What about Bad Weather?  Unfortunately we cannot control the weather (as much as we have tried – but that darn Vulcan Weather Satellite just doesn’t work like it used to). That means,  we cannot offer refunds or rescheduling if the skies decide not to play nice. However, if there is a weather condition on a particular day that might make driving dangerous (i.e. snow, ice, hurricane, tornado, alien attack, etc.) and you do not actually use your vehicle on that day, we may (at our discretion) offer you an extension on your hire or credit on a future rental.

What about fuel? Fuel is not included in our standard day hires, vehicles should be returned with the same amount of (premium) fuel as dispatched to avoid a locally determined refueling charge.

Do you offer hourly rentals?  Alas, we do not. We’ve run the numbers and the prep / delivery / pick-up overhead is too high to be worthwhile for either of us.

But I only need the car for an hour. We understand that many of our clients only have a need for a vehicle for a time period of less than a day, however by hiring it to you for even 10 minutes, we are eliminating the possibility that we can hire the car to another customer. So in essence, we are giving up the car for the full day regardless of how long you use it for. As such, we must charge for a full day  or  the times available in our package deals on this website.

Ok, then I only want it for one day on the weekend. Can I do that? Sorry to have to say ‘no’ again. Because of the huge demand we get for weekend hires, we aren’t able to offer a guaranteed one-day hire on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday in advance. Similar to the above, if we guarantee it to you for just a day, we’re giving up the chance to hire it for 2 days, which is what most members want on the weekends and what we need to do to make business sense.
At different times we do have specials for locally mandated public holidays in each of our locations, otherwise a public holiday surcharge for these days usually applies.

If you really, really need that car for your wedding/anniversary/surprise gift, and it’s gotta be on the weekend, the only way to guarantee it 100% is to book for a full weekend (Friday-Sunday, 48 hours).

There is one exception though: We do offer “non-guaranteed” (i.e. stand-by) one-day rentals on weekends on a walk-in basis only. So if you give us a call on Saturday morning and the car you want is still available, we’ll gladly hire it to you same-day for just that day.

Where can the Exotics be driven?  Our Exotics can be driven in the nominated area of use shown on your Hire Agreement, Metropolitan area ( from Hire station) only. Exotics can be temperamental and retrieval costs (if required) can be very high from other more remote (country) areas.

I want to drive in the country areas, can I?  Of course if you wish to take the Exotic outside the nominated area of use we must be informed prior and the hire price will be adjusted to reflect the greater wear and tear the Exotic will be subject to.

My {insert relative here} just died. Can I cancel? Please. Ok, we’re really, really trying not to be heartless here, but know this: When someone calls to cancel a hire, there’s an 80% chance that they use the death-in-the-family excuse with us. (yes, we’ve measured.) We’ve heard it so much, that A) we can’t believe that so many people would stoop so low, and B) We don’t believe it anymore. We’re very sorry if you actually have a death in the family, but because there are a lot of people out there who cry wolf they  have ruined it for you and made us cold, heartless automatons.

I want to hire for my Formal. I’m under 30, but my uncle/father/mother/sister/cat is going to rent it for me. I promise I won’t be driving the Ferrari. Is that OK? Unfortunately, there have been  bad experiences in the past with underage drivers getting their hands on exotics after their relative hired the vehicle to ‘drive them’ to Formals. So we don’t do any Formal  hires, full stop. However, if you’re a parent and want to arrange to rent one of our luxury sedans to be ‘chauffeur’ for the night, we’re happy to accommodate – just make sure that YOU make the call!

How many Kms do I get with my hire All our day hires  include 100 Kms per hire day (check the shorter term hires page for the number of included Kms). After that, Km  rates differ depending on the vehicle – check out the car information pages for specifics.

For example: You hire the Porsche Boxster for one day. The first 100 Kms you drive are included in the price of the hire. Anything after the 100 Kms are charged at 98cents/Km.   All Km charges are billed out of your security deposit.

What if I return the car late? I phoned.  Well, because our Pit Crew are all very hard working (7 days a week just waiting for a late return still have to be paid) and our hire schedules are tightly packed.  So, if you return your car after the nominated return time, because  of Traffic, Blizzard, Flat Tyre, I forgot, Watch stopped, Dog ate my homework…… we have to charge for the late return of the vehicle in accordance with the scheduled hourly late return fee in your contract terms and conditions just to cover costs.

Why do I have to leave a security bond? Due to the extremely high cost of the vehicles we offer, it is our policy to take a refundable security bond for all our hires and Supercar drive day participants. This bond is fully refundable following the completion of the hire. The bonds range from $3000 – $15,000 depending on the vehicle. Rest assured, this is refunded in full once the vehicle has been returned to us and thoroughly inspected. This usually takes 3-5 business days after the end of your hire.  If there are any additional Km charges or minor damages, they are billed from your deposit and the balance is refunded back onto your credit card.

Why would you bill me for damage? We come across a lot of minor scuffs and scrapes on our cars when they go out on hires – sometimes customers scrape a wheel, scratch a front bumper or bubble a tire (to name but three). These repairs are quick and relatively inexpensive to make and under the Excess limit for an issurance claim they are billed from the security deposit in order to minimize the amount of time the car is off the road.

Do you “Code Share”. Sure do! We use partners all over the world in some cases formal arrangements and in most as industry partners: ie: same hire/rental industry, so if it makes sense to use them to satisfy our clients needs, we do!….A bit like the airline industry codesharing their flights…..same great service, our quoted tariffs to satisfy your Exotic driving desires.

How are Exotics different to other types of cars?  Many Exotics do not carry spare wheels and are designed for varying, conditions (not necessarily Australian) including roads, weather, fuel,  etc.  Ask if unsure about specifics for any particular Exotics. We recommend RAA Plus or NRMA  equivalent, roadside assistance for all customers to cover any out of pocket expenses. Just ask us prior to your hire, how to arrange it or call RAA or the NRMA direct.
